A Musical Pleasure Garden

Bayou Bend, 1 Westcott Street at Memorial
A historic recreation of the 18th century musical pleasure garden. With songs and sonatas of Handel, Purcell, Arne, William Shield and their contemporaries, the afternoon will showcase Ars Lyrica's musicians and singers from the University of Houston's Moores School of Music. Led by artistic director Matthew Dirst. The artists will perform on period instruments and in period dress.

A bunch of people in our neighborhood (which flooded badly during Allison) are leaving their homes. A number of them did not pack up their yards. If any of their shit damages our house, I intend to beat them over the head with their own debris once they return. |
